Eight years after graduating from law school, Ms. Economidis partnered with fellow Greek-American Attorney Zach Georgopoulos and formed the law firm of Georgopoulos & Economidis, LLP. The firm’s primary focus is representing small and medium size business with an emphasis in restaurants and nightclubs throughout Northern California.
Before becoming going into private practice, she served as a Deputy District Attorney for Santa Clara County, prosecuting various misdemeanor and felonies. Five years later, Ms. Economidis accepted a political appointment by California State Treasurer, Phil Angelides, to become the Executive Director of the California Educational Facilities Authority. She also was appointed as the National Finance Director for the Treasurer’s re-election campaign.
Ms. Economidis has also distinguished herself in other areas. She is extremely active with the San Francisco Symphony, last year, Mayor Gavin Newsom appointed her as the Chair of the San Francisco-Thessolinki Sister City Committee. Ms. Economidis has also served as President of the Hellenic Law Society of Northern California from 2000-2002 and currently remains a member of the Board of Directors. She is active with the Red Cross and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors for the City Club of San Francisco.
Ms. Economidis graduated from Mills College with a degree in Political, Legal & Economidis Analysis in 1992. The following fall, Ms. Economidis enrolled in Santa Clara University School of Law, graduating in 1995.
